Ston and the green Neretva delta
After the bare rock of the coast, the Neretva delta comes as a surprise: flat land, channels, reeds and mandarin orchards to the horizon. Some of the locals still get about by boat.
The day starts in Ston and crosses the Pelješac Bridge on the way.

The plan
Ston

A stop where the bridge and the bay can be seen properly.
Opuzen and the delta
Channels and orchards around Opuzen. In season a ride in a traditional flat-bottomed boat with a local skipper can be arranged.

Good to know
Mandarins are picked in October and November, when the orchards are full of fruit. Boat rides are arranged and paid separately; mention it when you ask.
