Počitelj, Blagaj and Mostar along the Neretva
Three stops up the Neretva valley, each with a different feel: a fortified village on a slope, a river spring under a cliff and the busy old town of Mostar.
Lunch is by the water in Blagaj or in Mostar, as you prefer.

Počitelj
Mostar
The plan
Počitelj
Stone houses, a mosque and a tower climbing the hill above the river. The short walk up gives the best view of the valley.
Blagaj
The Buna river comes out of a cave at the foot of a tall cliff. Beside it stands an old dervish house, with restaurants along the water.
Mostar
The Old Bridge, the bazaar and the lanes on both banks.
Good to know
A passport or ID card is needed for the border. Visitors to the dervish house in Blagaj are asked to cover shoulders and knees; scarves are available at the entrance.
