Budva
Kotor
The plan
Perast
A short stop in the little town on the water.
Kotor
Inside Kotor's walls: narrow lanes, a square for coffee and time to wander.
Budva
An old town on a small peninsula, with narrow lanes and beaches either side.
Sveti Stefan
A viewpoint above the island village joined to the shore by a narrow strip of sand. The island is a private hotel, so the view is from the road.
Good to know
One of our longest days, and it fits inside our 10:00 to 23:00 hours. Passport or ID card needed. The border queue in summer is the hardest part to predict.
Other day trips
-
Split via Ston and Makarska
A stop in Ston, the drive over the bridge and an afternoon swim at Makarska, then Split.
-
Split via Mostar
Mostar, and Počitelj if time allows, then down to the coast at Split.
-
Srđ, the Ombla and the big bridge
Two hours for the best views of Dubrovnik, from the hilltop above the Old Town to the river under the rock.
-
Cavtat, Župa Bay and the view from Srđ
Dubrovnik from above, the coast road over Župa Bay and slow time on the Cavtat waterfront.
-
Konavle villages, mills and Sokol Grad
Our own valley: Čilipi, the water mills on the Ljuta and the fortress on the rock.
-
Konavle wine estates
A day among the family vineyards of Konavle, with someone else driving.
