The Pelješac wine road, all the way to Orebić
Pelješac is long and narrow, with the sea on both sides and vines on nearly every slope. This day drives most of it, from Ston to Orebić, which looks straight across the channel at Korčula.
Wine lovers get the most from it, but the road alone is worth the trip.

Ston walls
The plan
Ston
A short morning stop at the walls and salt pans.
Trstenik
A small harbour on the south side of the peninsula, below the vineyards.
Potomje and Dingač
Potomje is a village of wine cellars. Through the tunnel behind it are the Dingač slopes, so steep they drop almost into the sea. Plavac Mali grown here makes one of Croatia's best-known reds.
Orebić
A seaside town at the end of the road, with Korčula just across the water.
Good to know
A long day with plenty of driving. Tastings are paid at the cellars. Want to add the ferry to Korčula? Ask, because it changes the timing.
