Konavle villages, mills and Sokol Grad
Konavle starts where Cavtat ends. Most visitors see it only through the window on the airport road, but behind that road there are stone villages, vineyards and a river that once drove dozens of mills.
This is Pavo's home ground. The day follows the valley from Cavtat to the fortress at its far end, with lunch by the water on the way.

Sokol Grad
Čilipi
The plan
Čilipi
The best-known village of Konavle. On summer Sunday mornings there is folk dancing in front of the church, in the local costume.
Ljuta
A short river that comes straight out of the hillside. Several of the old mills along it are now restaurants with tables by the water.
Sokol Grad
A medieval fortress built on a rock above the valley, once guarding the border. Inside is a small exhibition, and from the walls you see the whole of Konavle.
Good to know
Sokol Grad has steps and uneven ground, so wear proper shoes. Tickets are bought at the entrance.
