To Split, with lunch in Ston
Ston is directly on the road to Split, so stopping there costs you very little time. It turns a long drive into a day with a proper break in the middle.
Spend the stop on the town walls, or skip the climb and sit down to oysters in Mali Ston. Afterwards we cross the Pelješac Bridge and follow the coast north.

The stops
Ston
The walls climb the hill above the town and down the other side to Mali Ston. A walk along part of them takes about an hour.
Mali Ston
A tiny harbour with a few restaurants. The oysters and mussels are farmed in the bay in front of them.
Pelješac Bridge
The bridge carries the road over the sea towards Komarna on the mainland. We drive straight across, so keep your camera ready.
Good to know
From Cavtat the day is about half an hour longer, as we pass Dubrovnik first. The same plan works from Split down to Dubrovnik or Cavtat.
